We propose a project to reconstruct traditional Japanese tea ceremony utensils and boxes through a contemporary lens. Introducing a collection that embodies the essence of Tokushima Prefecture by utilizing cedar and indigo, local specialties, our project incorporates materials sourced from the region's mountains, rivers, and sea, emphasizing sustainability and local consumption.
本プロジェクトは、伝統的な茶道の茶箱を現代的に再構築することを目指しています。徳島県の特産品である杉と藍を中心に、山、川、海の素材を取り入れ全体として徳島を表現しています。また地産地消、持続可能性を重視しています。
未来への宣言
Crafted by skilled artisans, each handmade product is meticulously finished, avoiding mass production while achieving high-quality results. Although each piece stands as an independent work of art, together they create a sense of mysterious harmony. Our project not only focuses on product design but also highlights the aspect of project design, with a challenging goal of reconstructing traditional Japanese tea utensils.
熟練した職人によって手作りされた製品は、大量生産の品とは一線を画した仕上がりになっています。それぞれの作品は独立した作品でありながら、1組の茶箱にすることで不思議な調和を生み出しています。当プロジェクトはデザインに焦点を当てるだけでなく、伝統的な茶道具を再構築するという挑戦でもあります。
きっかけ
Combining innovation with feasibility, our approach demonstrates a unique perspective and creativity in both design and implementation. We aim to pursue design challenges and growth beyond the completion of the products. By utilizing local resources and involving numerous small workshops, our project has the potential to significantly impact the local economy, injecting new vitality into the community and promoting economic sustainability.
